Why KonXions? The spelling is derived from the words connection and Konionia. First, as beloved children of God we are all connected and called to be the body of Christ. "Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
Next, koinonia is a Greek word most closely associated with concepts of a holy, covenantal fellowship. Its origin is in the Greek word koinonos, which means partner, sharer, and companion. It identifies the idealized state of fellowship and unity that should exist within the Christian church, the Body of Christ.
Last, X is the Greek symbol for Christ. So, the capitol X in KonXions represents Christ in the center of all we do including our vision and mission. Vision: Breaking down barriers, building bridges to the cross. Mission: To make disciples for the Kingdom for the transformation of the world.
