As the personal God He is, the Lord Jesus Christ desires to be intimate with us. Nicodemus, Pharisee and a Rabbi, an Israelite professor, was very knowledgeable about Old Testament law and tradition, holding a high religious position, but knew very little or nothing about faith and grace. Nevertheless, he was thirsty for Jesus after seeing the miracles He worked, which, according to Nicodemus himself could only be performed by someone who came from God. Jesus, who taught faith and grace on the other hand, opened Nicodemus’s eyes to a reality he had never experienced before. Are we thirsty for Jesus as well?
