Commitment
"All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name", the focus hymn of this sermon, has been known as the national anthem of Christendom since the late 1700s. Edward Perronet, the one who provided the lyrics, was John and Charles Wesley's partner in their street revivals. Some decades later, Rev. E.P. Scott had a tremendous experience as a missionary in India. Threatened by locals of a tribe who surrounded him, he had no weapon but his violin. As he closed his eyes and started to sing the hymn by Perronet and play the violin, he was certain to wake up in eternal life. Much to his surprise, instead, all his enemies had dropped their weapons and surrendered to God's love. And just as Edward Perronet and Rev. E.P. Scott were mighty means of salvation, healing and deliverance in the Lord's hands, this message is an invitation for us to go out in the world and spread the Lord Jesus' love, being the same means of grace to other people. Join us in this Easter celebration!
